Digital Signage Expo Brings Crowd to Mexico City


Digital Signage Expo (DSE), the world’s largest international trade show and educational conference dedicated to digital displays, interactive technology and digital communications networks, recently held a first-of-its-kind industry education program and breakfast event at the W Hotel in Mexico City.

This south-of-the-border breakfast, which was offered at no charge to qualified attendees, served as part of a new outreach program for approximately 200 executive end users and systems integrators. In addition to the free meal and networking opportunities, those in attendance were invited to an informative seminar featuring Walt Disney Integration Consultant and longtime DSE participant Frank McGuinness.

His presentation, “Storytelling with Digital Signage: Across Verticals, Environments and Technologies” delved into the many ways that Disney has harnessed digital signage for communication as well as improving the customer experience. Nearly 120 executives packed in to benefit from the seminar. In fact, they even had to bring in more chairs until the breakfast became a standing room only event.

DSE Brings Crowd to Mexico City for Seminar and Breakfast“The event was of great value to all who attended because it supplied an open forum where they could share experiences, ask questions and coordinate with a variety of integrators and end user,” said McGuinness. “It was interesting to hear attendees looking for validation of use cases they were putting together in their environments, and it provided the opportunity to explain how attending DSE, which provides a wonderful networking opportunity with other end users, could be helpful to them.”

Chris Gibbs, President and COO of Exponation, which produces DSE said, “For the future, we also envision other seminar programs, like the one staged in Mexico, in other locations around the globe. These programs will be invaluable to DSE’s attendance promotion efforts and will give select exhibitors a chance to meet face-to-face with key prospects in-country.”

The program was supported by DSMX, the trade association that represents all things digital signage in Mexico and had several members in attendance as well. DSE will also be conducting outreach programs in the U.K., Canada and other international locations with the help of the U.S. Commercial Services offices in those countries.
