DSE’s 13th Annual Digital Signage Guided Installation tour will provide customer-facing views and behind-the-scenes insights of some of the best digital signage installations in Las Vegas.
While the most conspicuous manifestations of digital signage in the city are the bright lights along the famous Las Vegas Boulevard “Strip,” the 2018 edition of the escorted coach tour is distinguished by the variety of installations, both on and off the Strip. Spokespeople representing the venues and the technology will be on hand to answer questions and speak to the challenges they faced in concept, design and implementation, as well as provide insights into their solutions and results.
In addition, tour attendees will be treated to a networking breakfast and presentation from Las Vegas-based designer Brian Henry before departing the Las Vegas Convention Center.
DSE 2018 Digital Signage Guided Installation Tour locations will be announced soon!
It’s projected that as much as 30 percent of our industry will be out of business in 2-3 years. Why? Because customer expectations are becoming astonishingly high, technology is becoming commoditized at a rapid rate, and those who don’t keep up with evolving trends will find themselves out of luck – and out of customers. As it becomes more and more difficult to create unique value in the marketplace, it is critical to talk in the language of outcomes, rather than technology.
The Digital Experience Forum is designed specifically to give you the insider tools to rise above commodity, to speak the language of the CMO, and to become a consultative partner that not only wins today’s pitch, but tomorrow’s as well. You’ll be elbow-to-elbow with big brands, those that live in the digital experience trenches and enlightened ‘future state’ pundits.
In order to achieve success your employees need to be engaged, motivated, and informed. Hear from a variety of speakers and the internal communication tools and channels they’re using to achieve just this.
New for 2018, the Digital Workplace Summit includes optional* Pre-Summit Interactive Workshops on Tuesday, March 27 to maximize your time out of the office with three deep-dive sessions, while the two-day conference moves to Wednesday and Thursday, March 28-29. The Digital Workplace Summit also includes access to the DSE Exhibit Hall.
The Digital Out-of-Home Strategy Summit offers a high-level, 35,000-foot perspective on the state of the industry. The conference serves as a meeting place for brand marketers, ad agencies and network operators, covering what each constituent needs to know about digital out-of-home media and its role in the evolving digital landscape. The conference addresses present and future issues and challenges, including how the medium is measured, who sees it, how effective it is, where it’s located, what it costs and where it fits in the media buyer’s planning.
The Digital Signage Certified Expert program provides a full understanding of all the elements of digital signage and the interconnected technologies that produce the images seen on screen.
Digital signage is the fastest growing segment of the commercial AV, content creation and advertising industries. It appears quite simple at first glance but becomes a tangled web of interconnected technologies acting together to produce the images we see on screen. The challenge is one of immersion and full understanding of all the elements of digital signage.
Industry leaders recognizing the need to provide clarity for those entering digital signage agreed that an impartial, agnostic and vendor neutral training and certification program would provide a platform for continuing education and professional and business growth. The Digital Signage Certified Expert (DSCE) program addresses this need.
The Digital Signage Display Expert (DSDE) program is the industry’s only comprehensive training program designed exclusively for digital signage displays and calibration. The DSDE program addresses the subject of displays as a key component in a digital signage system and teaches how to properly calibrate them. The program recognizes that the displays are the “windows to the world” representing the digital signage message and that accuracy in transmitting images is directly related to impact and the effectiveness of the entire digital signage system.
The mandate of the DSDE program is for the attendees to understand each display technology and the key elements that can be adjusted/calibrated in concert with one another and relative to the environment in which the displays exist. By adopting calibration standards and understanding the methodologies involved in the calibration process, we can address an infinite number of applications and environments and never have the need to settle for a poor, mediocre or inaccurate image onscreen.
The SEGD Branded Environments event is back by popular demand with a great lineup of speakers and tours. As part of your registration, you also get access to the DSE show floor* for to see the latest developments in digital technologies and fire your imagination about new ways to create solutions in your experiential graphic design projects.
The 2017 Branded Environments event grew by 50%! And why not? It was an extremely valuable learning experience for the attendees, who toured new projects in Las Vegas like the new stadium and heard about cutting-edge projects in branded environments from leaders in the field.
First-time DSE attendees can join industry veterans for an orientation to familiarize themselves with the world’s largest international trade show and educational conferences dedicated to digital displays, interactive technology and digital communications networks. Taking place the day before the show opens, Tuesday, March 27, the DSE New Attendee Bootcamp will walk rookies through the various educational opportunities available at DSE as well as how to best navigate the show floor and talk to vendors in order to make the most of their experience.
There will also be time to meet other first-timers (expert tip: walking the show floor is made easier with a companion) as well as some potential veteran mentors at the conclusion of the event.
The DSE New Attendee Bootcamp is free for attendees, but registration is required. Please contact Tara Grooms, DSE’s Attendee Relationship Manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (770) 817-6190 to sign up.
One of the most important yet misunderstood of the 7 Key Elements of Digital Signage/Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) that go into every project and network is content. The Digital Signage Experts Group (DSEG) has therefore created the Digital Signage Content and Media Expert (DCME) certification, which is designed to lift the level of understanding of content and media far beyond the obvious limitations of “”conventional wisdom”” and provide the details and in-depth understanding of the major parameters affecting this critical area.
The DCME begins by defining what content is, its history and its impact on a viewer. It then explores the importance of content and how it fits into a digital signage or DOOH system. This leads into a discussion of how content performs its tasks and the results and after-effects of having good and bad content.
The Digital Signage Network Expert program provides a full understanding of the complexities of what lies underneath the surface and represents the heart, brain and soul a network, along with what comprises a network and network operation.
The program explores the characteristics of networks, such as size and geography be it a Local Area Network (LAN) or Wide Area Network (WAN), the hardware and types of physical links and hardware that connect the network, communication protocols (for example, TCP/IP) and security and access. It includes a discussion of the different modes in which networks can be connected and explores both the pros and cons of wired and wireless technologies and security.
