DSE’s 13th Annual Digital Signage Guided Installation tour will provide customer-facing views and behind-the-scenes insights of some of the best digital signage installations in Las Vegas.
While the most conspicuous manifestations of digital signage in the city are the bright lights along the famous Las Vegas Boulevard “Strip,” the 2018 edition of the escorted coach tour is distinguished by the variety of installations, both on and off the Strip. Spokespeople representing the venues and the technology will be on hand to answer questions and speak to the challenges they faced in concept, design and implementation, as well as provide insights into their solutions and results.
In addition, tour attendees will be treated to a networking breakfast and presentation from Las Vegas-based designer Brian Henry before departing the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Taking place the day before the show opens, Tuesday, March 27, the DSE New Attendee Bootcamp will walk rookies through the various educational opportunities available at DSE as well as how to best navigate the show floor and talk to vendors in order to make the most of their experience.
There will also be time to meet other first-timers (expert tip: walking the show floor is made easier with a companion) as well as some potential veteran mentors at the conclusion of the event.

One of the most important yet misunderstood of the 7 Key Elements of Digital Signage/Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) that go into every project and network is content. The Digital Signage Experts Group (DSEG) has therefore created the Digital Signage Content and Media Expert (DCME) certification, which is designed to lift the level of understanding of content and media far beyond the obvious limitations of “”conventional wisdom”” and provide the details and in-depth understanding of the major parameters affecting this critical area.
The DCME begins by defining what content is, its history and its impact on a viewer. It then explores the importance of content and how it fits into a digital signage or DOOH system. This leads into a discussion of how content performs its tasks and the results and after-effects of having good and bad content.
The Digital Signage Network Expert program provides a full understanding of the complexities of what lies underneath the surface and represents the heart, brain and soul a network, along with what comprises a network and network operation.
The program explores the characteristics of networks, such as size and geography be it a Local Area Network (LAN) or Wide Area Network (WAN), the hardware and types of physical links and hardware that connect the network, communication protocols (for example, TCP/IP) and security and access. It includes a discussion of the different modes in which networks can be connected and explores both the pros and cons of wired and wireless technologies and security.
