Interactive Projection and Lighting at Singapore’s Funan Shopping Mall

Lightact is an integrated suite of software and hardware designed for creating immersive installations. Hexogon Solution, the audiovisual, lighting and show integration company recently rebranded to be known as Hexogon Vietnam Co. Ltd., chose Lightact earlier this year as the media server for two interactive installations in an iconic and IT-friendly Singapore shopping mall. The socially conscious and creative space is called Funan, and it features more than 885,000 square feet of combined retail, office and residential components designed by millennials for millennials.

This particular installation consists of two parts, an 11-meter by 12-meter projection area on the floor where visitors can play fun interactive games and a long bicycle lane leading through the entire mall. This path is illuminated by embedded Digital Multiplex Signal (DMX) lights for cyclists to follow and is all controlled by Lightact, which allows you to visualize your project in 3D while completing the actual programming and is not limited to any particular medium. Check out the video below for a bird’s-eye view demonstration of Lightact (and the content created in Unreal Engine 4) in the context of this Funan installation:
