Speaker Bios: John Browne founded Kastus in 2014 having worked closely with the development team for more than 10 years. He had a successful senior management career with manufacturing multinationals, and he has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical, electronics and glass industries in varied roles including operations, supply chain, IT, and business development and process R&D. Browne has a successful track record in building strong teams to commercialize important IP, and he has raised more than €7 million in funding from various sources including VC, private and agency grants.
Dr. Hugh Hayden has been working in the area of infection and infection control through the environment for more than 10 years, specifically addressing the impact of touch points as a source of infection and the steps required to mitigate it. From fundamental research projects to product development and validation, Dr. Hayden has collaborated with a wide range of multinational and SME companies, NGO, and government agencies including large healthcare providers and universities. He has also been the expert representative for NSAI (National Standards Authority of Ireland), Ireland’s official standards body on a number of new standards. Dr. Hayden provides independent information on global trends concerning infection through the environment (fomites), socioeconomic costs of infection, technology evaluation and mitigation steps to reduce infection.
