PORTLAND, Ore.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Leyard and Planar, global leaders in visualization products, announced the promotion of Adam Schmidt to executive vice president of sales and marketing. Schmidt was formerly vice president of sales for North America. He brings over 16 years of sales and product management experience at Leyard and Planar to his new role. His responsibilities include strategic oversight, management and alignment of global marketing and North America sales.

Schmidt joined Planar Systems in June 2001 and has held various customer-facing positions in sales, marketing, business development and customer service. Prior to joining, he worked in marketing at Mentor Graphics, and in Project Management for Washington County. Schmidt has a BS in Economics and an MBA in marketing and quantitative methods from Willamette University.
