ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., Oct. 10, 2016 – LG Electronics USA has been honored by the Path to Purchase Institute with the “Best of the Times” award for the LG TV Experience Wall featuring 2016 LG OLED, LG SUPER UHD TVs and premium sound systems. The award is the top honor in the Path to Purchase Institute’s 21st annual Design of the Times Awards competition.
LG’s TV Experience Wall, developed by LG Electronics USA and produced by Design Phase, is an interactive television display designed to educate TV shoppers about the latest advancements in TV picture quality, including High Dynamic Range (HDR) and 4K Ultra HD resolution, on the award-winning 2016 LG OLED and LG SUPER UHD TVs. It was chosen from more than 250 entries as “Design of the Times Gold Award” winner in the Consumer Electronics category, and as the overall “Best of the Times” platinum honoree from among all category award recipients.
LG tasked Design Phase to design and build multiple size versions of the TV Experience Wall, initially for Best Buy stores, to help TV shoppers better understand and experience emerging technologies:
- OLED TV: Showing how the unmatched picture quality LG OLED 4K TVs deliver with perfect blacks, intense colors, and infinite contrast all housed in a one-of-a-kind sleek, slim design. LG is the first and only to bring to market this new cateogory of 4K TV with its state-of-the-art 4K LG OLED TVs.
- High Dynamic Range (HDR): Delivering brilliant brights, darker darks and a wider palette of colors, reproducing images that are more true to life. LG OLED and LG SUPER UHD TVs support all HDR standards.
- 4K Ultra HD: Demonstrating the stunning quality of 4K resolution, which delivers four times the pixels of conventional HDTV for image clarity with exceptional detail and realism.
- Premium Streaming Soundbars: Bringing enhanced audio performance and the ultimate home theater environment.
Smart TV: Making it fast and easy to switch between live TV, streaming content, and external players using LG’s critically acclaimed webOS 3.0 Smart TV platform.
