Austin, TX — August 31, 2017 — The University of Texas Athletic Department has recently unveiled the renovation of the Men’s Howard L. Terry-Bobby Moses, Jr., Longhorn Football Locker Room at Royal Memorial Stadium, which include 43” monitors above each of the 120 new lockers. This locker renovation is part of a broader expansion and improvement in the athletic facilities in Austin.
The monitors feature pictures of the player, highlights, and personal information, which replace the traditional player name plates of most locker rooms. The Athletic Department believes this will not only help dramatically improve the overall aesthetics of the locker room, but will also be an asset in recruiting future Longhorns. According to Fernando Lovo, Chief of Staff of Football, “These state of the art lockers give us the ability to not only schedule different player videos, photos, etc to the screens, but also to make dynamic changes on the fly, while also being able to have groups of lockers with synchronized content. Ping HD’s software and service have been tremendous and a great partner for the project.”
Ping HD and its award-winning EngagePHD CMS was chosen to drive the 120 Samsung SSP Tizen screens by the design firm WJHW and Walker Engineering, who handled all the integration work for the project.
“It has been amazing working with the Athletic Department on such an awesome project! This is by far one of the most unique and phenomenal designs I have seen in this industry!” said BJ Long, Manager, Technical Support, Ping HD.
