Making the Most of Networking Opportunities at DSE 2018


Networking at DSE

There are many reasons for wanting to attend DSE 2018:

  • You want to keep up to date on new products, services and applications.
  • You need to purchase products or services to launch, expand or update a digital signage system.
  • You want to further your knowledge through professional education on topics relevant to the status of your digital signage network and your role in its operation.

While all these reasons are more than valid, don’t underestimate the power of face-to-face networking, or all that DSE offers in the way of networking opportunities. It is telling that during the depths of the recession, when business leaders were expanding the use of virtual meeting technologies, 95 percent of a Harvard Business Review subscriber survey said that face-to-face meetings were “a key factor in successfully building and maintaining long-term relationships.”

The Meetings Mean Business Coalition puts it another way: “Great things happen when people come together. Face-to-face interaction is the platform where deals are struck, relationships are forged and ideas are generated.”

At a trade show and conference, you have the opportunity to network with exhibitors, speakers and fellow attendees. So, as you map out your plans to participate in DSE 2018, you’ll want to consider meeting with all three groups. These face-to-face interactions may occur on the show floor, in conference rooms or in a social setting, but it’s up to you to make them happen.

As far as the show floor goes, the best and most obvious place to meet attendees and share ideas is the End User Networking Center (Booth 2546). This is an ideal location to exchange contact info, ideas and plans throughout the show. On top of that, Wednesday will feature additional networking opportunities categorized by specific industry verticals. DSE will also be working with the Digital Signage Federation to ensure that anyone who wants to discuss their digital signage with an industry peer has that opportunity.

Furthermore, to get a head start, why not join DSE’s LinkedIn Group to connect with attendees with similar interests? By discovering who else is going to the show in advance, you can set up appointments and develop a coordinated plan to maximize your visit. Better yet, join one of our nine industry-specific LinkedIn Subgroups to meet and swap ideas with your peers. You can also follow the official show hashtag on social media, #DSE2018, to begin and continue conversations.

And after a long day of walking the show floor, DSE 2018 offers you the opportunity to discuss the day’s events and meet new industry contacts over a cocktail or two at the free Networking Reception on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. This gathering will take place poolside at the Renaissance Hotel just before this year’s APEX Awards Ceremony in the Renaissance Ballroom.
