BROOKINGS, S.D. – Nov. 6, 2018 – When Collierville High School opened the doors to their new school this fall, included in the additions were four video displays and 12 fixed digit scoreboards designed, built and installed by Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota.

With one of the largest enrollments to boast in Tennessee, the Dragons see full crowds at events. “The fan engagement is second to none,” said Jeff Curtis, Collierville director of athletics. “We have a college atmosphere with our new equipment and it’s only going to get better. We want to compete with everyone in the country and are very proud of what we’ve accomplished here.”

The athletes for the football, basketball, wrestling, volleyball, lacrosse, soccer, baseball, softball and track teams can look to their Daktronics equipment to keep score, run video clips and more for optimum fan engagement. The school holds special events at the facility, and support from the public through sponsorships ties the community and school district even closer.

“We turned down additional sponsors because all spots are sold,” commented Mr. Aitken, Collierville’s superintendent. “Our students are currently learning display operations. We are teaching the kids a trade that will carry them far in life as they select their careers, and that’s what excites me the most. Our technology is above the rest in the business. It’s easy to do with limitless opportunities.”

Measuring 17 feet high by 30 feet wide with a 15HD pixel layout, the outdoor video display showcases crisp, clear imagery with wide-angle visibility to fans in every seat at the stadium. Alternately, the main gym’s video display measures 11 feet high by 16 feet wide with 10-millimeter line spacing, paired with a fixed digit scoreboard. Sportsound® audio equipment accompanies the outdoor display. Multiple fixed-digit scoreboards placed around the campus ensure fans don’t miss a beat.

Not to be outdone by cooler weather sports, spring sports such as softball and baseball also showcase video displays in their fields. The softball team’s video displays measures 7 feet high by 16 feet wide while the baseball display comes in at 8 feet high by 16 feet wide. Both feature 19-millimeter line spacing and are paired with fixed-digit scoreboards and audio systems.

All of these new video displays put the finishing touches on the Dragons’ state-of-the-art facilities. “This is one of the premiere video facilities in the region,” said Pete Reifenrath of Daktronics Sports Marketing. “It was a great project all around. Collierville ran with the sponsorship efforts and their equipment is now fully funded and beyond. It’s rewarding seeing the school’s efforts put money back in their own pockets for additional resources.”

Collierville High School will also receive digital content for their display, produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services.
