SEH Technology Introduces High-Performance, Plug & Play USB Device Server to U.S. Market

Phoenixville, PA SEH Technology – the U.S. subsidiary of Computertechnik GmbH, a Germany-based technology innovator for premium network solutions – has introduced a high-performance version of its USB device server to the U.S. market. The new myUTN-2500 Device Server enables multiple users in separate locations to securely access several USB devices housed in a centralized location, making a company’s network ubiquitous while allowing for segregated information access – a must for businesses with sensitive or proprietary data.

The myUTN-2500 device server is a user-friendly “plug & play” solution that can integrate nearly any USB type into all common network platforms quickly and efficiently. Simple to install and configure, the unit is compatible with a broad spectrum of USB devices such as external hard disks, flash drives, scanners, gauges, medical equipment, RDX removable disks, multifunction peripherals, cameras and telephone systems. Operating systems supported by the myUTN-2500 include Windows, OS X/macOS and Linux.

In addition to providing flexible, location-independent utilization of USB devices throughout a company’s network, SEH Technology’s new flagship myUTN-2500 Device Server protects companies against theft, damage and loss of important and confidential information, including expensive licensed software systems. Equipped with three USB 3.0 SuperSpeed ports for unsurpassed data throughput speed, the myUTN-2500 offers several performance enhancements over both competing solutions and its predecessors:

  • Charging port for mobile devices
  • Faster data transmission from USB device to remote access user
  • Comprehensive security features interwoven into both hardware and software
  • Ideal for virtualized environments (VMWare, Citrix Xen or Microsoft Hyper-V)
  • Ideal for server-based environments (like Citrix XenApp and Microsoft Remote Desktop Services/Terminal Services)
  • 36-month guarantee (upgradable to 60-month guarantee)
  • Regular software updates and free worldwide technical support

When embedded into a company’s network, USB devices can be managed transparently via UTN Manager – a custom-developed associated SEH Technology software for all UTN products – just as if the USB device were locally attached to the user’s PC (point-to-point connection). All SEH Technology USB device servers are equipped with UTN (USB to Network) functionality, allowing users to access non-network-ready USB devices in the network (USB over IP).

While the new myUTN-2500 boasts a variety of performance improvements over previous models, special consideration was given to USB data throughput.

“The myUTN-2500 is particularly suited for company applications in which fast data throughput is essential,” explains Mike Majewski, President and CEO for SEh Technology. “Our customers have always praised the functionality and specialized features of prior models, but expressed a desire for better USB data throughput. We listened, and improved this feature accordingly.”
