Award-winning digital engagement platform, SignStix®, has released a new player module which allows Windows-based hardware to act as a content delivery mechanism.
Unlike the current SignStix® Player hardware, the Windows player module is provided to SignStix® clients free of charge.
The new module means that existing PC based infrastructures will be fully supported, adding an entirely new capability to the SignStix® platform. In keeping with the team’s commitment to developing a user-friendly platform, the module will make the upgrade from legacy digital signage systems to SignStix® simple and straightforward. As part of the release, SignStix® has demonstrated support for a number of PC-based systems, including Desktop, POS hardware, video walls and Windows-based tablets.
Commenting on the release of the new Windows module, Nick Fearnley, Founder and CEO of SignStix® said:
“We’re really excited about the new module, and we’ve worked with a number of clients to turn an exciting concept into reality. SignStix® is a globally-renowned platform and we’ve seen huge demand for enabling deployment to devices other than the SignStix® Player hardware.”
SignStix® recently used the new Windows module to deliver an impressive 52.5SqM video wall in TK Maxx’s brand new flagship store in Munich. This large-format display has quickly become an integral feature of the biggest TK Maxx store in Europe and provides a unique and inspiring experience for in-store shoppers. Spanning four floors, the 10-metre high video wall is testament to how the new Windows player can be used to achieve truly innovative results.
Along with achieving innovation in the retail industry, the Windows module opens up unlimited possibilities for the corporate, healthcare, education and banking sectors. The ability to run signage as a screensaver on Desktop PCs is one of the most compelling features of the new software, as it enables fast and easy corporate communications across global-sized workforces at the click of a button.
“We’re already quoting thousands of licences for the Windows version in the UK alone, primarily for the Corporate Desktop market,” comments Nick.
“It’s a whole new way of engaging, informing and motivating staff. SignStix® is now touching almost every digital touchpoint and medium available and truly becoming the unified platform we planned for.”
The Windows player module can also be used in existing kiosk deployments, enabling organisations to display real-time information from one centralised location, from any Windows device.
As part of its ongoing program of quality and usability improvement, SignStix® is planning to release other playback mechanisms, in addition to the upcoming release of Director v3.0.
