Summing Up Digital Signage Expo 2017

The 14th annual Digital Signage Expo (DSE) officially wrapped on March 31, and 2017 was a record-breaking year in virtually every category. Qualified attendance soared to around 5,000, which is almost a 20 percent increase from 2016, and nearly 1,000 international attendees made the trip to Las Vegas for DSE, bringing the number of countries represented to a whopping 62. As for the show floor itself, exhibit space went up to 86,090 net square feet with more than 250 exhibitors, and exhibitor personnel shot up 17 percent to accommodate the boost in foot traffic and the influx of more potential clients.

The 13th annual APEX Awards, honoring the most prestigious, inventive and eye-catching digital signage installations from around the globe, similarly created more buzz than ever with 138 submissions pouring in from 12 countries. The DSE Through Your Lens Video Competition also made its debut as a fun and informal addition to the APEX Awards so companies and content teams now have one more outlet to showcase and share their creative flair.

And in addition to all that, the Digital Signage Federation (DSF) took the opportunity to use the occasion as a platform to announce the DSF Global Digital Out-of-Home Council, which is dedicated to standardizing goals and measurement in the DOOH space, and more than 50 stories about the diverse features, events and offerings of Digital Signage Expo have since been filed by the host of attending journalists. Check out the video below for a few of 2017’s visual highlights:

We hope you were there to Experience, Engage and Evolve with the best that the digital signage industry has to offer in the way of technology, innovation and networking opportunities along with the rest of us. And if not, after seeing the aforementioned results, I’m sure we’ll cross paths at this growing trade show event in Las Vegas next March. Be sure to refer to throughout the year for all the details surrounding 2018’s conference.
