EduComm Expo (ECE) announced today that Thomas Kunka, Senior Application Specialist at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will present a seminar on deploying and managing a digital signage network at 3 p.m. on the first day of the Nov. 15-16, 2016 event at Chicago’s Navy Pier.

The presentation by Kunka, entitled “Connections: Putting Digital Signage into Context,” will present a case study on the Digital Signage Services at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from its launch in 2008 and growth into a 300+ screen network deployed across 22 major academic and administrative units in a federated cost-recovery model.

Attendees will also:

  • Understand the benefits to be gained by leveraging digital signage as a means to provide communication and services.
  • Be guided through the origins and evolution of a large-scale campus-wide digital signage network.
  • Review a large-scale digital signage deployment in new building construction.
  • Discuss challenges as well as visions for the future of digital signage on campus.

“I’ve always taken the roads less traveled and solved the tough problems in innovative and cost-effective ways,” said Kunka. “Sometimes we don’t know what lies ahead until new they reveal themselves or we are bold enough to create a future for ourselves. I have a passion for both technology and for higher education and I’m fortunate to have had a career filled with valuable experiences.”

Until midnight, Friday, Sept. 23, attendees can register for EduComm Expo 2016 for half the usual price. For example, the two-day pass, which regularly sells for $495, can be purchased for less than $250, this week only. The discount code for this one-time sale is:  FLASH50.
