EduComm Expo (ECE) announced today that Stephen Stavar, Digital Signage Specialist at West Virginia University will present a seminar on sourcing content at 3 p.m. on the first day of the Nov. 15-16, 2016 event at Chicago’s Navy Pier.
The presentation by Stavar, entitled “Error 204: NO_Content: Where to Get Internal Content,” will be a case study on the content development solutions West Virginia University has employed to produce the messaging the university wants to send and ensure that it is relevant to what students, faculty and visitors want and need to see.
Attendees will also:
- Understand which avenues can be tapped in order to reuse and recycle internal information for digital signage, while reducing the perceived workload to produce it.
- Learn about guidelines WVU is constantly tweaking to get messaging out in a timely fashion and how they keep its messaging fresh.
- Understand the process WVU has created for content management ensuring it is agnostic and flexible enough to work across multiple platforms.
“It is important that communication on various platforms in higher education settings support one another to ensure that messaging gets through to students, faculty and staff,” Stavar said. “Every day there are 8,640 seconds of screen time to fill and it is crucial that all messaging is what the various on-campus audiences want to see.”
