What’s New at DSE 2019

There are several notable changes to Digital Signage Expo (DSE) this year, from the streamlined pricing structure and manufacturer training groups to the conference’s educational sessions being action-oriented and prioritized by case studies from end-users, not to mention being scheduled so as to maximize exhibit hall time and improve the attendee experience. But we wanted to take a few moments to highlight four major additions to DSE 2019 that are focused primarily on issues at the heart of the digital signage industry, inspiring content solutions, and ultimately, how best to transform the customer experience across a variety of spaces. Keynote Breakfast: Re-Imagining Signage for the Post-Digital Age

Tom Goodwin looks at the ways in which we can drive innovation and transform all of our industries by truly embracing the power of new technology from concept to completion. “The X” – eXperiential Showcase

Illustrating how the world of immersive and interactive is fusing with traditional digital displays and screens, The X will feature technology and projects that demonstrate transforming a physical space into a full-on engaging experience with a line-up that includes interactive technology demos, cutting-edge design projects, and perhaps most notably, performances from VFX Compositor and VR Artist Anna Solomko.

In addition to 3D and 2D visual content for clients such as Disney, Facebook, Marvel, Lionsgate and Sony, Solomko is currently a 3D artist and compositor at Brud, a transmedia studio that creates digital character-driven story worlds. She has also used VR to recreate famous paintings such as Grant Wood’s “American Gothic” and Botticelli’s “The Birth of Venus,” and her works have been featured on the TV series, “Art Attack in VR” (2018). The Content Workshop

Join us on Friday, March 29 for an in-depth, full-day workshop on digital signage and video board content creation with a focus on real-world scenarios.  Industry experts will share proven tips and critical guidelines throughout the digital content lifecycle from creation and design to piloting, deployment, management and maintenance.  Between facilitated discussions, presentations and small group exercises, you will learn the essential importance of storytelling, strategy and the elusive art of content management. Attendees will walk through the integral steps in a content lifecycle from creation to deployment to management, and you will learn action-items from top industry leaders on deploying successful digital content and ensuring they stay relevant. Lunch Discussion Groups

Taking place across Wednesday (3/27) and Thursday (3/28), each group will hold intimate roundtable discussions facilitated by industry peers.  The objective is to share and deliberate on real-world strategies and issues. These dialogues will generate in-depth insights in an engaging format, identifying challenges and innovative solutions or partnerships. Lunch will be served. (MORE)

Since graduating from the University of South Florida with a journalism degree, Kushner has shot video and written for a myriad of publications and multimedia projects including Creative Loafing Tampa, Gogobot.com and TBO.com. His 2009 documentary American Colonies: Collapse of the Bee explored the phenomenon of Colony Collapse Disorder in honeybees and the various environmental/economic repercussions. The film became an Official Selection at 12 international film festivals, won Best Documentary at the 2009 Central Florida Film Festival and a John Muir Gold Award at the 2009 Yosemite Film Festival. In 2015, he became editor of Digital Signage Expo’s partner site and has since worked his way up to Digital Content Manager for the Atlanta-based parent company, Exponation.
